During anyPractical Sailing weeks, you live on board our yachts, Donna Mia and 34' South,while you adjust to your new found sea-legs but during the STCW'95 Courses, Theory Course weeks and any additional 'Add-On' Courses we give you a break from the yachts and let you bunk on shore.
We arrange for you to be accommodated, if needed,in the New and Trendy self catering Atlantic Point Backpackers' Lodge in Greenpoint, Cape Town which is perfectly positioned 1km from the V&A Waterfront and 750m from the new Greenpoint Stadium, site of the 2010 Soccer World Cup.
It is also only a short Taxi ride from our Theory Classroom at the Royal Cape Yacht Cluband the Deckhand, Stewardess and Powerboat Level II courses in Cape Town Centre. It is also in walking distance of some of the most entertaining and culturally rich things to do in Cape Town: the V & A Waterfront is a shopper’s paradise, watch the Shark-Feed at the dazzling Two Oceans Aquarium, catch a ferry to the historical Robben Island, see the Stars at the Cape Town Planetarium and of course our one and only Table Mountain, a cable car ride away.
Atlantic Point Backpackers' is not only beautifully situated but the numerous nooks and niches will allow you to hole up and study your Theory Modules. This grand and modern 3 story mansion has all the facilities you would expect from a top quality backpackers: internet access, free Wi-Fi, BBQ (Braai) area and lounge complete with 40” flat screen TV. Cook up a storm in the self-catering kitchen, take a much needed hot shower, and after a hard day's study, relax, grab a drink and play a game of pool with your fellow Course-mates in the entertainment area.
You will bunk down with your Course-mates inone of the 8-bed Dorm Rooms, available at R120 per night including Breakfast, but should you need a little more alone time then you can look into upgrading to a4-bed Dorm, a Private Room– some of which are en-suite for added comfort, or for the gals there is the option of the Girls-Only Dorm Room.
You are welcome to find accommodation of your own with a friend or relative, or even at another Guest house in Cape Town but at Atlantic Point Backpackers' Lodge you will be with your fellow Course-mates and can share revision notes, taxi fare, cooking and laundry duties, etc.

NOTE!Transport to and from Atlantic Point accommodation and Lunch & Dinner are not provided during the STCW 95, Theory Weeks and any additional 'Add-On' Course weeks.
