RYA/MCA Competent Crew Practical

No previous experience required

During this essential introductory course, you will build a solid foundation in the correct RYA procedures, including personal safety, seamanship and helmsmanship that will equip you with all you need to be a useful crew member. Not only will this course teach you about sails but you will also learn how to come into the harbour and moor. You’ll also be exposed to sailing terminology and learn a number of safety techniques.

Total course fee: R7 150

Fees include:

  • RYA certificate.
  • Your personal RYA logbook.
  • Food, accommodation and use of wet weather gear during the practical live-aboard week on the yacht.
